Default Making choices, you decide!

Hey! Another annoying thread by yours truly!

I have some people that want the current website design on FSU to stay and some people just say do what I want. The fact is, I don't know what I want haha. So thats why I'm going to ask you peeps here.

Should I keep the current design and just revamp it and redesign some areas? And just keep doing what I set out to do? And add a crap load of stuff to it? So basically start over with the same design and upgrade it all.

Or take about two months to come up with a new, fresh design? And start over fresh?

You pick! Just click a poll option and submit and thats it! Whatever has the most votes whether it be by a landslide or a few. Depends. If by a landslide I'll stick to the one thats winning but if by a few i'll keep the poll open for awhile. To see what happens.

Thank you all! Also, like I promised, I'll be restarting everything on FSU keeping all the content but, actually being active and working on it more then ever! Oh and everything I set out to do, I will do no matter what.

Keep the current design and put your time and energy into other aspects (i.e. promotion of the site, developing advertising to allow for some revenue for your site, research...). You can always work on a new design in the background, a slowly developed, organic approach to your design can be very beneficial to the final product especially if you don't normally approach a project in that manner.

People generally are coming to your site for the content not because it has a "hip" look. As long as it is simple and easy to use for accessing the said content anything beyond that is just extra...

I agree with Jeremy too. I wouldn't have though a redesign was an issue, the front page in particular is very well done. The forum page might benefit from a slightly bolder colour scheme, but all in all I'd say the design is solid.

it wont let me vote for some reason... But I personally see no reason to overhaul the website and make a new one, its just time wasted when we could be promoting the great sport of freestyle, wouldnt it be awesome to bring back a time like the 80's where freestyle is big again? well a 2 month break from the spread wont do it.

you have an awful lot to learn. but then idealism is sort of endearing too.

i think it could do with a touch of refining design wise, tweaks here and there, investing more in original content and interesting ways to present that content.

that wasn't directed at you panda, but it is a great fallacy of people wanting to make freestyle 'big like it was in the 80s'

it's better to understand that it wasn't as big as you were possibly led to believe.

I never noticed freestyle being big in the 1980's. But I have heard it was big in the 1970's.

Nah I don't wanna make it the 80's I want freestyle to be led by the new generation of the 2010 and above. The older dudes from the 80's are like the elders. We are like the new beginning

Thanks though I love all your input and I am very grateful for it.

Panda what I meant was that freestyle would gain a good deal more popularity, and you would be able to enter a competition without going through long lengths to fly to one or make one, and that you could just go to a skate shop and buy one.

I meant buy a freestyle board/accessories, currently the sport isnt popular enough to do this.

Oh haha sorry! I get confused easily :| I have way too many goals for freestyle and I'll be happy to do at least half of half of them haha. And that my friend is one of them, everything actually you said, I'd so love that! I know fsu can change the community, I just need to work 10000x more at it.

Thanks a bunch JF240! <3

Who are the new 2010 generation? We are only 12 days into 2010... but of course in those 12 days there might have been a few started with freestyle already.

Why not see it all as one generation, with no beginning and with no end?

lol. Nah I mainly meant that people are viewing freestyle as if it were still the 80's. It's in a new generation, its a very long way from the 80's and if we keep viewing it that way, and non-freestylers do then we'll all still be on the same road, posting away here on the cafe. We have internet, webcams, HD video cameras, online shops, ability to do live streams, and still do events ya know?

Sorry I'm not unclear when I post hope I didn't offend you Lillis. Wasn't my intention.

Panda you know you dont have to do it alone, email me for help sometime, I have no problem helping with anything. Also, for example, I am of teh 2010 generation, because im 14 and greatly intrested in freestyle and using all technology to reach for it. Supprisingly while I love everything about mullen, I also respect Terry Synnot and a few other modern day freestylers, Keith butterfield is a favorite, but I guess that would be hard to include hes oldschool freestyler turning modern.
